Preparatory Meeting
Vienna, February 27/28, 2014
On February 27 and 28, 2014, the preparatory meeting of the European Peer Review Association (EPRA) took place at the Hertha Firnberg Schools in Vienna.
The purpose of the meeting was to explore the partners’ interests with regards to institutionalising transnational peer reviews in the educational sector, to discuss funding options through Erasmus+ (2014-2016) and to form partnerships among educational institutions and schools.
A detailed action plan for members of the EPRA was developed. There will be two different types of projects: one for conducting transnational Peer Reviews, another for supporting and coordinating Peer Reviews.
For institutions who want to conduct transnational Peer Reviews:
- Peer Reviews will be carried out in small partnerships financed by Erasmus+ (Key Activity 2).
- In addition, the European Peer Review Association will provide Peer Training starting October 2014. For this training, institutions can apply through mobility funding in Erasmus+ (Key Activity 1)
Coordinating Peer Reviews and further development:
- There will be a "coordinating project" on the European level which will coordinate the "small partnerships" and pilot training and develop quality criteria. Partners will be institutions which have a coordinating function in their countries, like national reference points.
- A special project will work to transfer the European Peer Review methodology to Adult Education.
