9 European Quality Areas for VNFIL

In the project Peer Review VNFIL Extended, 9 European Quality Areas for VNFIL were defined.

The  Quality Areas are structured in two chapters and comprise the key processes of VNFIL provision (chapter 1) and the supporting processes (chapter 2).

Chapter 1 contains the four basic features of validation, identified in distinct phases:

• QA 1: identification
• QA 2: documentation
• QA 3: assessment and
• QA 4: certification.

These four phases serve the individual whose learning is validated.

Chapter 2: Conditions for developing and implementing validation contans the Quality Areas:

• QA 5: information, guidance and counselling
• QA 6: stakeholder coordination
• QA 7: professional competences of practitioners
• QA 8: quality assurance and
• QA 9: Organisation of VNFIL provision.

The first 4 Quality Areas are the “core” Quality Areas, at least one of the core areas needs to be tackled in a European Peer Review (cf. European Peer Review Manual). The Quality Areas are elaborated in outcomes, criteria, and suggestions for sources of evidence.

The European Quality Areas for VNFIL may be used freely by institutions for the conduct of self-evaluations or Peer Reviews in a non-commercial setting.

In order to respect intellectual property rights, when using the Quality Areas reference must be made with correct citation.

Altering the Quality Areas is only possible with explicit permission of the original authors. Please contact Erik Kaemingk , if you wish to do so.
